This year is the thirty anniversary of the founding of Xiamen Alumni Association about the second School in Putian. As time goes on, there are many words to say through the changes among 30 years.
Through the spatio-temporal tunnel almost thirty years, it is a beautiful history for looking back the changes, and it is also a very useful thing.

In 1986, due to the need of work, I transferred to Xiamen from Guizhou with whirlwind, from the military enterprises moved to foreign trade company. Since then, I fell in love with the beautiful land which was called Sea Garden and thrown myself into constructing the Xiamen Special Economic Zone, blended in the spanning more than a century and the famous school--Xiamen Alumni Association about the second School in Putian.
In 1984 autumn, Xiamen Alumni Association about the second School in Putian was born by the proposal and participation of Huang Wenxian, Huang Qinghan, Wu Jinxian, Chen Jinchun, Song Lina and so on. she is the first alumni association by the brother of Putian in Xiamen. After the discussion, Xiamen University professor Hong Wenjin was elected as the first chairman of the alumni. For several years, he rushed between Xiamen and Li city for the alumni, the work of almamater and hometown, fellowship activities. Unfortunately, he was died on December 24, 1987 on the hospital because of illness, so we lost an enthusiastic and passionate old alumni, old friends and old professor.

The second year, after the study, the task of the chairman of the alumni association of fell into a famous scholar, the dean of engineering college, Xiamen University Wu Cunya, he had great learning, friendly, full of spirit and work with enthusiasm. However, in 1989 spring, he settled in the United States from Xiamen University Baicheng, and there was vacancy of chairman. According to the spirit of alumni council and with the help of the treasured place of the schoolfellow , and they would elect a deputy director, and a deputy secretary, I was elected a director because of delay without agreement, so I was the third master.

To be honest, whatever created the alumni association got busy for alumni association, it was the most important for having enthusiasm, passion and heart. It needed all people to built the alumni association well, and all one would have duty about it. I had experienced from Fujian - Beijing - Guizhou to Xiamen, and I had leaved my hometown for more than 20 years, however, I had a deep emotion to my alma mater. In 50s, when I graduated from primary school, I submitted to the second school, I often barefoot walked more than ten li with sweet potatoes and other rations to the city school. I spent a full six years in my alma mater. To learn knowledge and skills, forging quality, exercise ability, named “three-good” student in Putian county, served as the member of the student council, deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee, and assigned to the Ministry of aviation industry Chinese after graduation. The alma mater of cultivation, the teacher's teaching, made my life benefit. No matter where I was, I would not forget you and never forget my alma mater, and connected to the heart forever. I was in Xiamen Island, and made friends from the alumni association, I would try my best to make contributions for it.

After the director, the first thing was to seek the views of how to run the Alumni Association and benefited by mutual discussion, on the basis of consensus on the positive initiative to establish perfect various kinds of system: adhered to convene the Standing Council and the Council every year, held the first fellowship on one Sunday after New Year’s Day-- proposed to built the system about young alumni as vice director, and the deputy secretary General to lead task, carried out the system of combination of middle-aged and rotation system. It had provided a platform for young people, increased the talent to prepare for the future succession. And it must propose the leaders would be invited each year to the new year school fellowship, with their help, it could promote friendship. For a long time, adhered to the unshakable, according to statistics, by 2013, Xiamen Alumni Association organized the 29 session of the new year association annual meeting. It had innovative form, rich content, it enhanced the friendship, expanded the influence. The work of the alumni association was well received. The school leaders more than once praised: "the second Xiamen Alumni Association to carry out the strong cohesion, it is booming, and it provides an example for many schools.” And sent a banner " tree is high because of loving land, and the island is aromatic.

To carry out various activities actively and dedicate love to alma mater. If alumni association had activities, and tere was vitality. When anniversary of the founding of a school started, Xiamen Council would research carefully, plan, organize and carry out the celebration activities. To organize the schoolfellow came back for celebrating together, to hold the activity for donating money, books and painting, and participate in the celebration meeting. To visit the school exhibition, organize the famous alumni, scholars, entrepreneurs to make a report to the teachers and students, to carry forward the fine tradition, to discuss the development strategy of school, create brilliant future.it accepted much praise by many people because of his warm reception.

Keen to participate in the development of Meizhou Bay in Putian City, for the revitalization of the activities to give counsel, offer wisdom to make contributions to the output, offer the heart to the Xiamen. To participate in the relevant meetings, celebrations, general election and the selection of advanced and so on. To make a bridge with enthusiasm, contact with friends actively, invite many painters to donate estimable painting. To rich cultural connotation, add park style, help the Propaganda Department of Putian City, Federation of South Shaolin in Xiamen exhibition. We responded to an appeal by the putian city to mobilize schoolfellow to donate for cemetery of revolutionary martyrs, and gived play to the speciality of schoolfellow for doing some feasibility study, and contributed ideas and exert efforts for hometown. The 89 years old Lin Shengxue alumni was hired as the Xiamen disabled Foundation Director after retiring, and he had visited more than 400 families, founded a specialized training schools for mentally retarded children, training many students go to work and help people with drug problems, he is known as the world moved Xiamen people in 2005. It selected Lin Kaiyuan, Chen Shaowen to participate in the Xiamen Putian chamber of Commerce for the establishment, and participate in various activities actively that was held by the chamber of Commerce and social welfare to dedicate love in the world.
Owing to our efforts and dedication, the alumni association of the second school in Xiamen continued to grow and progress, won the title of "advanced collective" by the Putian City Development Committee of Meizhou Bay in Xiamen, and Wu Jinxian, Lin Kaiyuan Lin Gongliang were won the title of advanced individual. In celebration of the fifteen anniversary of the establishment of the Xiamen Association of Meizhou Bay Development Committee, Xu Yuanying, Chen Qinglong, Huang Huihuang, Huang Wenchuan were awarded the title of "outstanding contributions", Zhu Haiyan, Chen Xingyuan, Lin Kaiyuan, Weng Sheng, Cheng Guoxiong were awarded the title of "advanced workers".

With the development of Xiamen alumni association of the second school, people had cohesion in their heart, and its should be quite successful, it must say thanks to the enthusiastic sponsorship, enthusiastic support, and thanks to the schoolfellow of Zhang Wenguang, Fu Zhenrong, Huang Huihuang to create conditions to carry out the activities of the Alumni Association, Thanks to the deputy director, deputy secretary general and director for dedication and support of my work. I also wanted to tell you here: earnest, enthusiastic old alumnus Lin Gongliang lived outside the island, but every year he would attend the the Council actively. In order to write alumni memorabilia, he started to collect the information from 2007, and took notes, conception, layout and illustration. He copied 6 after the first draf, read, amended, supplied by Lin Kaiyuan, Chen Shaowen and I. And it poured the energy and effort into the alumni association.

As times gone by, we constantly improved the understanding, updated the work idea, established the purpose of "get along with schoolfellow, and enhance friendship, make a contribution to Xiamen, give the glory for the alma mater”. The purpose of the work of the alumni association work from the perspective of civilization construction, alumni culture is formed in long-term development activities in a school alma mater between alumni and alumni, and alumni relationships, value orientation, communication, cooperation and service content. In a large part, if the schoolfellow were accepted higher by the society, the alma mater would also be higher. The reputation of alma mater was higher, schoolfello would had a high status, and it was favorable for the construction in Xiamen. the development of thirty years history about alumni association had proved that it became the inheritance spirit of philosophy and tradition to cultivate and promote the healthy and active alumni culture. And it also expanded the influence and enhanced the cohesion, promoted the life of the alma mater and alumni in Xiamen, and made it become an important carrier of development. We must persevere, strive for innovation, and constantly explore. What’s more, to make alumni and alumni culture was further improved and perfected.

Time likes water, Life just likes a dream.. Accidentally, the past thirty years had gone by. However, we did not regret, because it had permeated into enhancing the friendship of fellow alumni, alumni generation.
I hoped that Xiamen Alumni Association about the second School would develop better through the leading by the alma mater.
